With an official announcement expected any time now, former 007 Pierce Brosnan has weighed in on the race to play James Bond, and he has singled out Callum Turner.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Brosnan said he is just an audience member now, eager to see who takes on the role, and that all the men on the list are actors he admires. But he said Turner, whom he has worked with, is "so strong". The pair played father and son in the 2017 film The Only Living Boy in New York.
Brosnan, 73, played Bond in four films between 1995 and 2002, and says the contenders all have a voice, a physique and a presence on film. Turner is believed to have reached the final screen tests in October, and recent reports also mention Jack Lowden and Josh O'Connor.
